R U L E S

Welcome to City of Evil, a Xiaolin Showdown-based roleplay site, or RPG. It is run by Tekka and focuses on creative, plot-driven roleplaying that both entertains and improves skill. But to make the site successful, rules are needed and enforced. Generally I try to keep the rules very lax and allow people to do as they like on most things, but some things are necessary. Please read through these rules carefully and abide by them well.


G E N E R A L

  • Alright, this is the single most important thing you must accept before continuing on the site. This site's rating is PG-13. Do not join if you are not allowed or can't handle it. I'm not responsible if you're under 13 or your parents don't want you here and you get caught.
  • Adding to that, keep things on here at a PG-13 level. This means that drugs, language, mentioning sex, whatevs, is cool.
  • But lemons/smut/sex scenes are not awright. They are against ProBoards policies and I'm not allowed to allow you guys to have them on here. If your characters get stuck in a sexy situation, cut if off and time skip through the smutty bit.
  • If you just can't handle that, you could continue the lemon over PMs. I can't read it, nobody else can read it, just you two, so it's not harming anything. Also, you can reference to the scene later on, but do not get into the dirty details.
  • Use proper grammar and the like. No chatspeak or I will be angry. >:c
  • Respect your fellow members and staff. If you're gonna get mad and rant, don't name-drop. It just starts drama which I'm really sick of seeing on here.
  • Don't you dare try and pull me into any fights. I'm not taking any sides against anyone.
  • Don't ask to be staff. COUGH LAN COUGH COUGH HACK DIE.jk i love you sir
  • No ganging up on members in the cbox or elsewhere. Namely, Meshi. Leave her alone, you guys.


R O L E P L A Y I N G

  • No godmodding, powerplaying, anything of the sort. For those of you who don't know what this is, it means that YOU control what someone else's characters says, thinks, does, etc.
    This is godmodding:
    "Lucy kicked JC in the knee, breaking it."
    "Lucy kicked JC in the knee and he fell down screaming in pain."
    "Lucy kicked JC in the knee and he fell down, thinking 'wow, she has a tough kick.'"
    "Lucy kicked JC in the knee. "OUCH." he yelled, falling down."

    This is NOT godmodding:
    "Lucy ran and aimed a kick at JC's knee."

    You do NOT get to say that you attacked someone without giving them a chance to dodge or block it. You do NOT say that you injured someone. THEY say they are injured. You also do NOT get to say what they thought, said, or did. I do understand that during a fight scene, this is rather hard to abide by, so I'll let this rule bend a bit. Also, you can ask someone if you can say their character did something before you post, to get permission. But if they come to me saying that they didn't approve of something you put, then i'll be on you about it.
  • But that's not all when it comes to godmodding. Godmodding also means that your character is being 'invincible,' or basically, dodging all attacks, blocking all attacks, or acting as if nothing hurts them. This doesn't happen, either. Learn to take a hit. You are not invincible. (But some characters, such as Chase Young or Master Fung and such are going to be allowed to be more powerful and skilled than other characters, simply because in the show, they obviously were more powerful. This does not make them invincible, however.)
  • You can get fancy with your colors and such. I'm planning to use colors, lyrics, and slap up some icons in my post, so do whatever you want. Just make sure we can all read it.
  • All posting, excluding the nonsense board, must be done in story format, like you read in books. So basically...
    Not this:
    Lucy: You suck.
    JC: Aw. *emos*
    Lucy: 'Hah, he's such a wimp' *Kicks dirt at JC*

    No no no no no. I'm looking for this:
    Lucy walked down the street until she noticed JC. "You suck!" She called out to him, snickering and thinking about what a wuss he was.
  • No using smilies or chatspeak in roleplaying posts.
  • Please be considerate when joining a separate thread. If it's already going, it's nice to ask before putting your character in.
  • If you want a thread to be for a specific person or people only, you must include that in parenthesis or something in your post.
  • This is a serious roleplay. No ridiculous posts where your character flips out of a car and lands headfirst and gets up unharmed.
  • There's no posting minimum, but at least TRY to get some length in your posts.


J O I N I N G

  • OCs or fan-made characters are very welcome!
  • When joining, please use the form in the joining board. Please fill this out, even if you are joining as a show character. In that situation, fill it out with all the actual information, but you may add in whatever else in their history and such since the time skip, or elaborate on it how you feel necessary.
  • After posting your information in the joining board, wait to be accepted before you continue on.
  • No limit to how many characters you can have.
  • Don't join a fan character and a show character just to pair them together. I won't let you~
  • Keep in mind that this RPG takes place three years into the future after the show left off, so it's completely possible to characters to change a little bit. For example, Kimiko might have found a style to stick with and is more grown up now after the time that's passed.
  • When you join, your OC will NOT have ANY past with ANY other characters unless you have personally spoken with the person who plays that character and they are going to allow you to do it. If the character you're talking about doesn't yet have anyone playing him/her, you do not get to have your past entwined with them at all.
  • Don't rip off characters. I mean seriously, it's just dumb.
  • This is an OC-based RPG. OCs are heartily welcomed and encouraged, but do expect to be RPing mostly with them than show characters. If you want to RP with a show character then just ask the person who plays them, we're pretty cool with whatever you wanna do. Check the Character List to see who plays who.


S H E N G O N G W U

  • The Shen Gong Wu from the show have already been distributed, only to show characters.
  • If you want one of the show Wu, you must have your character confront the owner and either fight them or work out an alternative deal.chase: i alternative dealed all over jack! jack: stfu D:<
  • If you have an idea for a made-up Wu, go to the suggestions board, find the subboard, and make a new post.
  • When you suggest a new Wu, one of your characters of your choosing gets it automatically.
  • You can submit as many as you want, but Wu requiring a "chosen one" will not be accepted.
  • Wu Ownership List is located [here]. PM me when your character loses or gains a Wu to notify me.


P A R T I E S

  • We have parties here on CoE, where characters can all get together and have fun, get to know each other, etc etc. But these get out of control fast, so there's rules to them.
  • If one is going to be held, I'll try to schedule it for weekends mostly. If you're unable to make it and are dying to come, talk to me and I could try rescheduling it.
  • Only staff is able to schedule parties and whoever is the one scheduling it is the one making the first post.
  • There is a posting order in parties and you MUST follow it. It goes in order of arrival to the thread. Further specifics can vary, so make sure to read the first post of the party thread before hopping in.
  • There's music, but you guys gotta help me with this. Unless you completely trust my music taste, please give me suggestions. If you have the song, it would help me a ton if you could send it to me. I'll get the songs together in a big stream and then upload them to youtube temporarily.


P U N I S H M E N T ?

  • Those that have been on the site know that I'm pretty damn leniant with rule-breaking and stuff. I'm pretty forgiving, especially if you understand what you did and edit it/stop it.
  • Bans - most of these are temporary when I do give them out. If you keep breaking rules even though I or a mod ask you to stop, you'll probably be temporarily banned for a week or so.
  • Permanent Bans - if you're a real douchebag about breaking rules and continue doing it even though you're temp banned a few times before, then b&hammer coming your way.
  • Removal from Thread - say you break posting order in a party thread, or you post in a thread that is specified for someone else, you'll be removed from that thread and not allowed back in.
  • I will not ban you because I'm mad at you or because you annoy me. I try to be fair and as far as I can see, that's a personal issue between us and not grounds to ban you.



Break any of these rules and do expect to have me allllll up in ya grill about it.

CHATBOX RULES
Effective since 08-26-2007 at 11:47 AM PST.

1. Keep this PG-13. No discussing or "acting out" anything sexual.
2. Nothing hateful or threatening.
3. Getting mad is fine. Saying you're mad is fine. I will stay out of fights and everyone else should too,
because they WILL happen. But what happens in the cbox STAYS in the cbox, so don't drag it around.
The second I see a death threat, though, you are banned.
4. Don't change your name to something annoying and then continue to bother people
with it. I can see the IP address of everything posted, so I'm going to know who's doing it.
